people of god let's put away the old sinful nature of the flesh this is not a time to be living in sin it's not the time to be lukewarm be renewed in your spirit be renewed in your mind I encourage you to have a burning desire a yearning to live for Jesus Christ Romans 6 verse 6 says knowing this that our old man was crucified with him that the body of sin might be done away with that we should no longer be slaves of sin indeed we should no longer be slaves to sin we should no longer be slaves to the flesh or to the world because we as Believers are born of God we are Redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ we are washed and Sanctified by his blood as new creatures in Christ we should therefore walk by faith and not by sight we should walk in the spirit and not according to the flesh Galatians 5 verse 16 to 18 says so I say walk by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh for the flesh desires what is contrary to the spirit and the spirit what is contrary to the flesh they are in conflict with each other so that you are not to do whatever you want but if you are led by the spirit you are not under the law [Music] first John 2 verse 15 says do not love the world or the things in the world if anyone loves the world the love of the father is not in him Saints let's examine ourselves and let's be honest with ourselves are we any different from the unbelieving world in which we live or do we share the same attraction and the same standards is your mindset different of the unbeliever in the world well it should be your mind should be renewed it should be transformed there should be a difference because we're called to come out from among them being this world our perspective our priorities how are we as born-again Christians different from the world that we live in [Music] I pray that you'd sit down and evaluate your behavior and your conduct do they match up to God's let's be true Disciples of Christ disciples who are totally committed to the kingdom of God in word and indeed let us be disciples who measure ourselves with the word of God to make sure we're never stepping out of line or doing things our own way let's be disciples who are doers of the word and not simply hearers I encourage you to live as the word of God directs us to help myself do this I regularly hold myself up against the word of the Lord I hold it up to see if my actions are matching God's requirements for a Christian this means that if I am to live in the truth of Philippians 3 verse 20 which says for our citizenship is in heaven from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior the Lord Jesus Christ then I'm to have a mindset that is focused on things above on Heavenly things on whatever is true whatever is Noble whatever is right whatever is pure whatever is lovely that's what I will meditate on if I'm to live in the truth of Matthew 16 verse 26. for what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul or what will a man give in exchange for his soul then my goal in life my mission in life is not to be successful by any means necessary it's not to accumulate and acquire as much as I can but rather it is to live for God it's to live in obedience to his word so that my soul can be saved if I'm to live in the truth of Matthew 16. verse 24. if anyone desires to come after me let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me then my obsession is constantly running after Jesus seeking after Jesus more of you God and less of me your will be done and not mine for you not to be of this world then you are living a life that is set on following Christ set on obeying his word and set on serving serving the kingdom of God [Music] one of the clearest and most powerful verses in the Bible can be found in first John 2 verse 6. the word of God says whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did I don't think the Bible can be any clearer here anyone who claims to be a Christian must walk and conduct themselves as Christ we ought to be imitators of Christ in every way possible and this means we need to strive to be as prayerful as Jesus was when he walked on this Earth We should strive to be as loving and merciful as Jesus was on this Earth we should fight to be about our father's business we should fight to do God's will and so dear friend our hearts cry should be Lord I want to walk like you did Teach Me How to Love like you did teach me how to be obedient just like you were teach me how to be forgiving just like you were and of course teach me how to pray like you did as you are listening I want to encourage you and let you know that once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior Ephesians 4 verse 20 to 24 says but you have not so learned Christ if indeed you have heard him and have been taught by him as the truth is in Jesus that you put off concerning your former conduct the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts and be renewed in the spirit of your mind and that you put on the new man which was created according to God in true righteousness and holiness [Music] God [Music]
